In this quick update, we break down the latest technical signals across key timeframes to determine whether volatility is truly rolling over, or quietly preparing for another surge that could add renewed pressure on the markets.

CANDLES + TA

All VIX-tracking instruments I follow made bullish statements today. The strongest signal came from US VIX, which produced a powerful Bullish Kicking pattern while rebounding from an oversold RSI level not seen since 2023.

On the other hand, the 8 EMA resistance was not breached. If today’s move does not receive strong follow-through with expanding bullish momentum, there are still fair odds that the broader decline in volatility will continue.

Needless to say, tomorrow becomes the key decision day for volatility.
